Praise on Greer!
Megan has shared that Greer's test showed no sign of glaucoma. That's a PRAISE!
It also sounded like her surgery on her Port Wine Stain went quite well. Check out Megan's site and see the precious video of baby Greer!

Rebecca and Baby - Update
Please continue to pray for Rebecca and her baby.

Thank you for all the prayers that went out today for us. God's presence and peace is strong, and that unexplicable peace helps fight away my fear and doubt.
Specifically, our prayer requests are:
- the baby continues to get the blood supply and nutrients it needs to grow healthy and strong, (or as Olivia prays each night: that the baby will stay inside mommy's tummy until it grows big and can come out to be with us).
- The tear in placenta will not grow and the blood clot will absorb.
- The partial placenta previa will move upwards as my uterus continues to grow.
- That God will continue to provide the help we need as long as I am restricted to bedrest.
- That God will guide us in our decision regarding an OB and hospital to deliver at. I would like to stay with my same OB, since he is familiar with my history, but there are a few complications that need to be worked out.
Kahla - trigger and retrieval
Please pray for Kahla's IVF to go smoothly and end in a healthy miracle baby that Jeff, Kahla and Chase get to bring home in 10 months.
She triggers tonight at 9:30 pm and retrieval is at 9:00 tomorrow.

He fights so hard and is such an amazing boy. Last night he was almost intibated and put on life support, but God heard the cries of His people and he is doing better today on 15 liters of O2!!!
Baby Danny
Please pray for Baby Danny today. He has 6 hours of surgery to get his cochlear implants! Please, keep him and his family in your thoughts today.

Pray for Greer
Greer is the 1 year old daughter of Megan at Hold it Up to the Light.
Please pray for Greer on Tuesday as she has her 6th laser treatment for her Port Wine Stain. Prayers for comfort, safety during the procedure (under General Anesthesia), peace for her parents. Pray for great healing and continued fading. Pray for her not to remember anything, and for it to go quickly and without complication.
Pray also for the opthamology report. Pray that there will be no signs of glaucoma for now. They have been waiting this eye examination under anesthesia (which they will do right before the laser treatment). It will give us a good baseline for the future, and hopefully confirm that she has no signs of glaucoma.

Please pray for this Jesse & Destiny:
This is from her blog:
Well, Wednesday's ultrasound and blood work went really well. There were 8 follicles all relative in size and the levels were well controlled. Today, I am developing one dominant follicle. The left side is acting much like it did in the last cycle. I am very anxious, nervous, upset....etc! I know God can do great things. Could you put in a small request that the desire to be parents would be fulfilled in God's time.

Prayer for Melila
I got this prayer request from Shania's blog:
Please, please, please pray urgently for a little girl named Melila. We got a report from a friend of her family today that she as leukemia. She is the daughter of my husband and my former youth minister. I kid you not, she is undoubtably the cutest little girl in the world. Her parents have been preparing for several years now to make a permanent move to Bulgaria to minister to the gypsies. Please pray that the source we heard from was incorrect. Or, if they were correct, that it is a very minor form of leukemia.
Also Shania just broke her pinky toe. Please pray that the Lord will heal her pain. She is also finishing up a report for her class and I am sure she would love some prayers for peace and strength, knowledge & wisdom.
Thanks Prayer Warriors!!!

LuzMaria (Melanie's Grandmother)
Please pray for my friend Melanie's Grandmother.
I just got this email from Mel:
I just got a call from my sister that my grandmother is in the hospital. They think she suffered a mild heart attack while she was waiting on an MRI of her brain. She has been having episodes of dizzy spells and fainting and they kept diagnosing her with gastro problems but the dr said that these spells are one too many so now they are wanting to check to see if she has a blood clot which they just said they think its that. She has heart problems. One of her arteries is closing on her. Please pray for her. Her name is LuzMaria. That the Lord will heal her and that the Lord will give my mother strength as she is the one taking care of her.

Tara, Robert and their baby
Please pray for my friend's daughter, Tara (and her husband Robert). They are 7 weeks pregnant and are experiencing a hematoma in her uterus that has caused some spotting. She will have to go in for an ultrasound every week to check on it. This condition puts her at a higher risk for miscarriage. They have seen the baby on ultrasound and have heard his or her heartbeat and are encouraged by this, but they so need our prayers right now as they go through this difficult and scary time.
My boss's dad - passed away this morning at 1 am
UPDATED:
My boss's dad (Alister) died this morning at 1 am after a 13 day battle with lung cancer.
Please pray for the McArthur family as they go through this difficult time.
---------------------------------------------------------
Please continue to pray for my boss's dad...I received this email from my boss this morning:
We just talked to the doctor. My Dad has taken a turn for the worse and probably only has a matter of weeks left which at this point is a blessing as he is now suffering so.
My eldest brother is flying down tomorrow from Calgary on the early flight. We are going to make arrangements tomorrow to have our father moved into a long term care facility as he sadly can not go home.
I want to thank you all for your caring and thoughtfulness during this difficult time in my family's life.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Please pray for my boss's dad. Tonight Graham found out that his dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. Not only was he diagnosed today, but they hospitalized him.
Please pray for Graham's entire family - they are very close.
We know what they are going through - we watched Chris's dad suffer with lung cancer for 1 year (diagnosed June 2000 and died July 21, 2001). It is not anything I'd wish on anyone else. My boss is the best and I never forget to thank God for sending him to me. He is the most caring man and I'm so glad I work for him. I have such a heavy heart for him tonight...

Rebecca and Baby need your prayers
UPDATED:
Please lift Rebecca and her baby up in prayer. Her next ultrasound is on Tuesday, Jan. 20th, at 10:30 am. Rebecca is still on strict bedrest. Please hop on over to her blog to encourage her and let her know you are praying.
Thank you.
-----------------------------------
My friend's name is Rebecca. She and her family really need your prayers now, prayer warriors! I got an email from her today about her ultrasound appointment from yesterday. I'm just going to copy and paste it here for you to read yourself. Please Please Please pray for this family and this little baby.
Well, thank you for your prayers. The appointment was good and bad. I was so emotionally spent last night that I didn't feel up to writing. Plus my husband and I had some decisions to make. The baby is there, growing well and with a good heartbeat. Praise God! Little head and hands (based on my symptoms, I think she's a girl). The good news is the baby is measuring exactly to date and her growth is not suffering because of the complications. But there is also a large blood clot over the cervix. He called it an organized blood clot and is unsure if it is an old clot that is organizing and will reabsorb or if it is the placenta separating from the uterus. At any rate, he doubled my progesterone and put me on bedrest. I was having cramping yesterday and as soon as I was off my feet it subsided. He was also concerned at the nausea and not eating enough, so he ordered anti-nausea meds and 2 cases of protein bars. He said the lack of nutrition would only complicate the pregnancy. (As soon as I eat, I am sick for the duration of the day.)
I had much to consider last night. Because lying down seems to help the sickness, I'm opting not to take extra medications with an already stressed out baby. I'll eat and allow the lying down to take care of the nausea. I'm already 2 months and based on history, only have about 6 weeks left of sickness. I did double up on the progesterone and will be more diligent in getting my vitamins down.
We were not going to share our news with anyone (even the girls) until after the 1st trimester, but changed our minds last night. First, we need the prayers. Secondly, we need to ask friends and family for help, and we can't really do that unless we tell them what's going on. It's hard to be put in that vulnerable place, where if something happens we have to let everyone in on our grief again, but we don't have much choice right now. It's a little unnerving because even though I know we lost the last baby because of a chromosomal issue, there was a separation in the placenta during that pregnancy and I was on bedrest because of it. It's just a bad reminder. Anyhow, that means you can add us to whatever prayer lists will take us. :)
I have help coming today, tomorrow and Friday and am going to ask friends to help out with dinners. I can't cook because of the nausea and the being off my feet part, and my husband is limited since he comes home at 6 and the girls are getting ready for bed by 7. Plus, he still has a 1 lb weight limit for lifting from his broken wrists. So there are 2 of us and neither of us can do anything. :) It's very humbling to be in a position of needing help again.
I am striving to trust God, not just to do what I want, but to take care of us and trust that He has our best interests at heart. I want to stay close to Him during this time, it's just hard to even tell him what I really want for fear of being disappointed. There are lessons here, I am sure of it, just trying to make sure I'm open to learning them.
Please know that Rebecca and her husband have been through a lot in their lives (especially in 2008). They have two young daughters on this earth and one son in heaven (she lost him at 12 weeks in 2008). They need our prayers. Please let me know if you live in Southern California and would be able to provide assistance to this family.
Thank you and love,
Amanda

Another fire & medical emergency
Please pray for Linn from A Place Called Simplicity. Their home burned down yesterday and while her husband was going through the ashes she was having to take their son to the emergency room. Appendicitis.
They have a large family and a praise is that no one got hurt in the fire.
Read this very interesting account of what happened.
Please pray for this overwhelmed family and check out their blog. I'm sure they'd appreciate your comments.

Terry & Fay - House Fire on January 12th
Please pray for my friend Michelle's friends, Terry & Fay. Their house was attacked by fire on January 12th. They are still unsure of what caused the fire and cannot go inside yet to retrieve any valuables that may be left. Terry runs his own tile business out of his home, so this fire is not only affecting their home life, but their business is now suffering. Please pray that they are able to find out the cause of the fire so that they can move forward and please pray that they would be able to rebuild their home and their business.
Joshua - Deployed to Iraq on 1/13/09
Please pray for my friend Lauren's brother Joshua. He was deployed on January 13th to Iraq. Please pray for his safety and his safe return to his family.
Thank you, Joshua, for your service to our country.

Amy & Phillip - *Bump*
If you read Amy's blog you will see that she is really struggling with a lot right now. Both she and Phillip (see our side-bar pic) are dealing with a lot healthwise and emotionally. Decisions, also. Please continue to pray for them and follow their updates.
Alan in ICU
Please remember Alan and Jen in your prayers. Alan is the pilot who had an accident this past summer in his backyard while doing chin-ups. He's been paralyzed from the chest down ever since, with very limited mobility in his arms.
Jen's last two entries during the night last night:
1:05AM: We are in the emergency room right now. I had to call the paramedics because Alan had fever of 104.7 and was hallucinating. It appears he has a kidney infection that has gone into his bloodstream making the infection systemic. They are also doing xrays right now to check for pnemonia. Please pray for him. He's back. I've got to run.
3:31AM: They have got him stablized and they are going to admit him to ICU. He's still pretty out of it. I just pray that they will be able to figure out what is wrong.
While visiting their site, read the entry about this past weekend. Something very special took place and it was a praise I was wanting to put on here. I just got kind of side-tracked with all of my dr. calls, symptoms, etc. It's a great read, though, and definitely a praise!

Please remember to cover these two in prayer when you can.

Debbi
Please lift my friend Debbi up in prayer today.
Please see here her latest symptoms (angioedema) and read here about the trip to the ER last night. She still has not received medical treatment for this numbing/tingling/itching side effect, so please pray that she gets in to see a doctor today or tomorrow.
Thank you,

Chris and Melissa need our prayers
Please pray for Chris and Melissa. They are parents to a 4 year old girl and 10 month old twin boys. On November 1st, one of the boys hit his head on the coffee table while playing. This was like no ordinary bump. He began to have convulsions and bleeding on the brain. I just learned that the baby died shortly before Christmas. After the accident, child protective services took both other children from their home saying that the parents must have had something to do with the injury to the baby's head. The children still have not been returned and Chris and Melissa have not yet been exonerated. Please pray that the hearing in February will give this couple their other two children back. Please also pray for the family's healing and comfort after the death of their baby son.
Please go to Ashly's blog and read the entire story.

Peace and health for Kori
I just started following Kori's blog recently. Her husband is a CFer and has also battled Stage 4 Colon Cancer.
Right now Kori is really going through a scare of her own over some large lumps that she found this week. She is waiting on the results right now. Please visit her and let her know that you are praying for her.

New father dies on way home
Thank you, Marcia, for bringing this to my attention as I don't think we had this on here. This is one of those friend of a friend things, but a very tragic story and the family definitely needs our prayers. Drew Pearson's wife gave birth to their first baby and he died in an accident on the way home from the hospital. The best and worst day of his wife's life.
You can read about it best on Nitty.Gritty. A neat memorial site can be found here.

Great News!!
Please read the last two entries to Alan Henley's Caringbridge blog. There are some real uplifting moments and news...and please continue praying for them right now on this updated "surprise venture." (I thought if I kept the surprise element there, you might be more apt to read it!)

Decisions and doctors for Phillip
Along the side of this blog you will see "Prayers for Phillip". Amy B. (his mother) updated his CaringBridge site that he will be seeing doctors today and many decisions need to be made. Please pray for Phillips pain and physical condition, for Amy, and for the doctors to have great wisdom. Drop them a line and encourage them, too!

Mark Lamberth - passed away tonight
I had visited my friend Hilary's blog and was about to post the prayer request she posted but went to the blog and read the latest...Mark passed away tonight.
Please pray for Mark Lamberth's wife (Angie) and son (Nolan).
On December 12, he was severely injured in a dirt-bike accident. The doctors gave him a 1 in 500 chance of living and the most recent news was that an area in his brain was hemorrhaging, and actually ruptured, and his heart rate was slowing down on its own.

Pray for Ava
Please pray for Hope's baby, Ava. Ava has malacia of her larynx and trachea.
Taken from the side of Hope's blog, Taking a Deep Breath:
In her 9 months of life, she's been through alot. She has defects that effect her larynx, trachea, epiglottis, palate, tongue, and skeletal system. Some of these defects obstruct her airway. That's all we know so far. She's been in/out of the hospital a few times with more to come. A common cold can put her in the ICU. She's hooked up to monitors 24/7 and lives in respiratory distress complete with blue spells, home nurses, pulmonologists, etc... Her doctors have been on the verge of putting in a temporary tracheotomy to give her airway a few years to grow. We take it a day at a time.

Alan & Jenn - another 911 call
Thanks, Megan, for passing this update along to me.
Just wanted to update you quickly. Please, please continue to pray for Alan. Jen had to call 911 last night because she dropped him (thankfully, they are awesome and told her to call them to come help anytime). Today she is going to try to get him out to the airport to have lunch with some of his pilot buddies. He is really down lately, and this should be a good pick me up!!
For some reason Alan & Jen have just really taken a corner in my heart and I think of them so often and pray for them. I hope the rest of you are following their story and supporting them, also.

Emerson's fevers! (Updated 1/7)
1/7 Update: Please read the latest entry on Emerson's troubling fevers.
Guess what? There's a 1/5 update on Emerson's COTA that she's had a better last 2 days and has started to pee just a little!!!! Yeah for small steps! She has a long way to go and still is in need of lots of prayers. Go to their site and see the new pictures they have posted and read more of the update.
Landy's mom -Update
An update from Landy re her mother's change in condition: She was at a small hospital, with pneumonia, on oxygen, with high CO2 levels in her blood. They then discovered fluid around her heart/lungs and transferred her by helicopter to a larger heart hospital today. From what I understand, it was protocol to intubate her for the flight and the folks at the heart hospital just left that in place to try to get the CO2 levels decreased. It has helped--level was 40 when I left this afternoon. She may remain intubated for a couple of days.
Anyway, long story short, I think she is in pretty serious shape, so please pray for her during this time and thanks
Please be in prayer for my friend, Landy's, mother. She's in the hospital and very disoriented and having a lot of physical difficulties. It doesn't sound like they are sure what is wrong, they thought she had pneumonia, but now think it may be due to congestive heart failure.
My friend, Landy, has Cystic Fibrosis, which lends another complication to her visiting her mother and I know she wants to spend all of the time she can with her parents.

*K* has an EEG today
Please pray for 6 year old *K*. He has his annual EEG at 2pm today.
Pray that he would be comfortable, be able to sleep during the sleep EEG and that this test would (for the first time) show no abnormal brain activity. He has been on seizure medication for the past 6 years and it would be awesome if he could get off of the meds.
Also, please pray for his mommy, Wendi, that she would be calm, peaceful and comfortable while her baby has this test.

My friend - A Praise and Prayers are Still Needed Please
UPDATE:
Yesterday my friend had her follow-up appointment after her biopsy.
I received the following news:
They found some precancerous areas but everything is benign (Praise the Lord!) for now. She will begin to eat differently and take some vitamins while they watch and see over the next few months.
Please pray for her family as they adjust to the new Mommy (the one that's tired all the time) and please pray that she is healed.
-----------------------------------------------
Please pray for my friend. Her ex-husband was laid off the day before Thanksgiving. They have two children to support. Please pray for her upcoming doctor's appointment scheduled for Monday, January 5th at 2:30 pm CST, to discuss the results of her biopsy. (Right now she might have to take her kids and a few others to the doctor's appointment with her - alone. Please pray that somehow someone can help her or take the kids during the appointment.)

Alan and Jen - big day tomorrow
Please pray for Jen's strength tomorrow as she has to get around very early with the kids and getting Alan ready and to several doctor appts. tomorrow. Remember that she is having to wash, dress and lift a grown man- I am personally praying for someone to help her with that lifting!
Understandably she has really been struggling with the emotional and physical changes since Alan's accident this summer. And worrying about Alan. And I have no idea how hard it is for Alan to deal with all of this, too.
Pray for wisdom on the doctors part, healing, strength and for the friends who are keeping their children for the day.
Here is a picture from their CaringBridge site of Alan and Skyler. I thought it was very sweet!

Prayer for Maria
Maria from With Hope has been blessed with a baby in her womb again! Maria has been trying for over 2 years and with many procedures and Infertility medication she was pregnant last year and miscarried at 15 weeks in March of 2008.
She is pregnant again and we are hoping that the Lord will give her 9 healthy months and a precious healthy baby!
On Dec. 30th she went in for an ultrasound and they didn't find anything in her uterus, but her HCG level came back at 550 which is around 4-5 weeks. She had another bloodwork today and its in the thousands which is awesome! She will be going in for another ultrasound on Monday, Dec. 12th.
Please pray for Maria that the Lord will give her peace and strength. She is trying to trust the Lord with all her heart.
Thank you Lord for this little one in Maria's womb! Amen :)

Shannon's heart surgery
Please be praying for Shannon this week as she faces some serious heart surgery. I remember my husband's fear when he went through triple bypass 9 years ago. A very difficult time for Shannon and her whole family.
AmyB. is setting up something on her blog for Shannon, so go check that out and offer up your prayers and encouragement!

Tommy Beavers
Kahla sent me this prayer request:
Please pray for 5th grader Tommy Beavers.
Tommy was in a terrible four-wheeler accident on December 29th and was in a coma. The four-wheeler flipped/rolled on top of his head and it landed on the side with the back tire and rack. His left arm is broken, and least of their worries. Tommy was without/very little air for a short amount of time.
Read more of his story here and please pray for this family and this little boy.

Lauren
Please pray for my friend Lauren. She is having a hard time emotionally right now. Please pray that she would feel emotional peace and comfort as the months near Evan's birth (in May).
Please also remember her on February 8th, the first day of her 3rd Trimester with Evan, but the year anniversary of the date she found out she was pregnant with Baby Opal.

Update on Phenny - Bump
Please read the late 1/4 update on Phenny.
He/They really need our prayers right now.
An adorable little baby named Phoenix (Phenny) needs our prayers. He has Cystic Fibrosis and was taken to ER today, but they couldn't get an IV in because he is so badly dehydrated. Please check out their site and leave an encouraging word for them. I'm sure they'd love to know you're praying for them.

Pray for Jen & Alan - Bump
Read Jen's update of 1/4. It really brings home the daily struggles of caring for and living as a quadriplegic. I keep praying for some special people nearby (their church, maybe? a neighbor?) to help them on a regular basis. It won't help him hug his kids, but would still make a wonderful difference for them.
These dear people have really been through the mill and need our prayers.
I "met" this wonderful couple through Megan and have had the joy of following their story and praying for them. Alan was a stunt pilot until a tragic accident (in his back yard!!!) paralyzed him from his chest down, with limited mobility in his arms. He has suffered many numerous complications since that accident this year and they could certainly use your prayer and encouragement. Please pray for Alan and Jen.

Pray for Amy and her son, Phillip
Amy has been battling numerous health difficulites, including cancer, test and all kinds of things coming up. She has extreme problems with pain right now and really could use our prayers.
In addition to this, Amy's son, Phillip (click on the blog button in the left column to find out more) has grown up needing endless surgeries in his brain and spinal tap. He is in constant pain, as is his mother. I know that they would greatly appreciate your prayers and encouraging comments.
Update on Lisa, Kimmie's friend
I haven't figured out how Nate does his "bumps" to put something back at the top. When I try updating a post, it inserts it back where it was. Anyone?
Anyway, Kimmie's friend, Lisa, has had a setback and is back on a ventilator and in ICU. Please continue praying for her. This is also taking a toll on her son, H, as he doesn't understand why he can't talk to her or visit.

Baby Ashlynn
Please remember April Marie, a friend of mine from CafeMom. She gave birth to a baby girl, Ashlynn Elizabeth at 23 weeks 3 days on November 12, 2008. She weighed 1 pound 5 ounces. Ashlynn is currently in the NICU and is doing great. After the birth, April Marie's infection was so bad that they ended up doing an emergency surgery and had to take her uterus. She was told by the doctors that it is a miracle she survived. She and her husband believe that God gave her another chance at life so she can be here for her daughter. You can view her Caring Bridge page here: www.caringbridge.org/visit/ashlynnelizabeth.
Grammy
Please keep Caitlin's Grammy in your prayers. Due to the real estate market issues, she is having trouble selling homes. Please pray that she would close on a home very soon.
My friend
Please keep my friend in your prayers. She and her husband are trying to reconcile their marriage.
Jessica and "Treyson's Purpose"
Please keep Jessica in your prayers as she is working with her sister in law, Meagan, to start up a non-profit organization called "Treyson's Purpose." This organization is being formed in memory of Treyson, Jessica's son who went to heaven on June 8, 2008. This organization is being formed to provide support, resources, and alternatives to pregnant women that are considering having an abortion.

Pray for our children
We all need to pray for our children. Angie Smith has laid out a clear plan on her blog to do so. Check it out here.
Adrienne and Family
*Please pray for Adrienne and her family. The birth mother of the baby girl that they were going to adopt has decided to parent her instead of proceeding with the adoption plan.
Jared
The Brown Family
Please pray for the family of Caitlin's friend, Ethan (who we came to know through Big Mamma and family). Ethan was 4 years old when he was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, liver cancer. Ethan went to Heaven on Friday night (November 28th). Ethan has a younger brother and sister. You can view his CarePage here: http://www.carepages.com/carepages/WilliamEthanBrown. Ethan's memorial service was on Saturday, December 6th.

Please pray for Anthony. He is living with CF. He was med-flighted to Texas (from FL) on December 2nd due the severity of his pneumonia. He had a double lung transplant in July 2008.

Please keep Jen's grandpa in your prayers. He was hospitalized a few weeks ago and they found a spot on his lungs. Please pray that the spot is nothing serious. He will have further tests.
Thom's family
Please keep Cate's family in your prayers. Her Uncle Thom died on December 18th of a stroke. He is survived by his wife and two young children.
Daniel
Please keep my coworker, Daniel, in your prayers. He had emergency surgery a few weeks ago to have his appendix removed. Last week the results of the tests they did on the appendix showed that he may have colon cancer. Daniel is in his early forties. Please pray that further tests show no spreading and that they caught it in the early stages.
Julie's family
Please pray for Debbi's sister's friend's family. Julie Hadley died on December 23rd. She was only 48 years old.
Debbi
Pray for my friend Debbi. Her husband started a new job recently (that he keeps threatening to quit) and her meds are so expensive that she is unable to take them everyday (although she really needs to take them everyday). Please pray that she will be comforted and her depression will lessen and please pray that her husband would persevere even if the job is not something he likes to do (so that he can support his family).
Our friends
Please pray for some of our friends. They are having a difficult time financially right now.
Friend's Parents
Please pray for our friend's parents who live in Washington State. They both lost their jobs and are now snowed in without power.
Chad and Nicole
Please pray for Chad and Nicole. Their baby Dylan James was born and then went to heaven December 28. He had Trisomy 18.
Brad
I found out the following prayer request through my friend, Rachel's blog: Please pray for Brad to be healed. In 2007 Brad was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called chondrosarcoma. Hospice has been called - he has taken a turn for the worse. He is at home spending time with his sweet family. Brad is married to Jenny and has 2 small children.
Chase and Kahla
Please keep Chase in your prayers. He is 3 1/2 and had his second ear tube surgery on November 26.
Also, Chase cut his hand a few weeks ago and has a staph infection. He is being treated but please pray that he will have no lasting effects of this infection.
Please also pray for Chase's mom, Kahla. She is getting ready to have IVF #5 this month. Please pray that a miracle is done and Jeff, Kahla and Chase are blessed with a new baby.

Debbi
Please pray for Debbi. She has CF and is suffering with bronchitis right now.
Please pray that her doctor's appointment on Wednesday, January 7th, would be productive (they are supposed to insert a PICC line and get IVs started). She is worried she may have to take Prednisone before then so her airways don't close up. She can't take any oral antibiotics. Please pray that she is able to breathe and would feel better soon.

Please pray for Tricia and Gwyneth
Most of you follow CF Husband's blog, but in case you aren't...Please pray for Tricia and Gwyneth. Tricia has CF and had a double transplant last year shortly after a difficult pregnancy. She's also been through a round of cancer since then, with the subsequent chemotherapy. Gwyneth was born at 24.5 weeks and is nearly a year old. Any time Tricia comes down with a cold it is very serious business (or anyone else in her household!). Please visit Nate's site and let them know of your prayers and encouragement.
Maria's Grandpa passed away

Teresa's unfulfilled due date - 1/6/09
Please pray for my friend Teresa. She suffered a miscarriage on May 14, 2008 and her baby would have been born on January 6, 2009. I know how she feels and I hope she feels peace, comfort, love and mercy on this very difficult day.
*J* who lost her daughter right after Christmas
Please pray for *J* (Kahla's friend) whose 23 year old daughter died unexpectedly right after Christmas. This was her only child; her best friend. Her daughter's death was sudden and completely unexpected. Only 9 short months ago this same woman also lost her husband very unexpectedly.
Chelle's IVF scheduling and her father's surgery
Please pray for Chelle as she tries to schedule her IVF #2 around her father's surgery (for ulcerative colitis). They run a business together and having them both out might cause issues with the business. Pray that they will be able to hold the fort down and can both have the procedures done.
Leah - Newly Diagnosed with Breast Cancer
Please pray for Leah and her family. Leah is the wife of one of my high school and college friends. She was diagnosed this past week with breast cancer. Leah is only 28 years old and has 5 young children. She begins chemo this week (for 3 months) and then will have a mastectomy and full hysterectomy (it has spread) and then will have radiation.
Friend's husband has diabetes complications
Please pray for my friend's husband who is experiencing complications with his diabetes.

1/1/09 Update on Emerson
I'm not sure whether to link to the update or paste it here. I think I'll copy & paste because I'm afraid you might not take the time to follow the link.
"Fighting Hard"
Emerson made it through the night. She's febrile, her heart is racing, her belly remains very hard and distended, and her coloring is not good. She received plasma & platelets last evening and blood transfusions throughout the night. Her hemoglobin is dropping which would suggest internal bleeding. The hope is that her body will begin to clot and reabsorb the blood. The surgeon said to imagine a large hole – the bowel is gone & her body cavity is filling with blood and fluid. Her blood gases (an indicator of lung stability) have been poor and she’s very acidotic. On a positive note, though, her blood pressure remains stable. Most didn’t expect that.
The plan right now is to take Emerson back to surgery tomorrow morning to re-examine & wash out the body cavity. If she deteriorates quickly today, though, they’ll take her down sooner. If her blood gases don’t improve, she’ll be transferred to the high-frequency vent (the oscillator). Continual dialysis will be restarted this morning.
The surgeon said her hope is to give Eme’s body time to heal and strengthen before we re-list. She actually isn’t even a candidate for transplant right now. She’s too sick – she must be infection free, and her lungs and kidneys must be stronger. She must have a fighting chance to survive transplant or she won’t be relisted. I asked the surgeon how long that would take…she said we have a little time, but wasn’t willing to speculate as to exactly how long. She said we’re still just trying to “get through today”.
Jim made it in safely and the surgeon has ordered me to get some sleep. No promises, but I’ll try my best…
Please pray for Emerson!!
